I adore this classic Italian basil sauce! The basil's not yet in season, so I bought a small pot. Pesto brings outs the flavour of this wonderful herb, and it so much better when it's home-made! You can use it with any kind of pasta, or with tomato-based recipes, or simply served on toasted crostinis!
Ingredients:
50 gr. of basil leaves
4 cloves of garlic (according to taste!)
2 soup-spoons of pine nuts
50gr of grated parmesan cheese
4 soup-spoons of olive oil
In a mixor or using a pestle and morter, mix the chopped basil, the garlic, the pine nuts and the olive oil into a smooth paste. Add the Parmesan if you like. And that's it!
